Art & Education

Creative programs for young people.

Exploring how art can support young people in communities with limited access to opportunities by creating programs, expanding visibility for underserved areas, supporting education, and helping build stronger, more inspiring environments for learning and growth.

A young girl in a maroon kameez bends over a sketchbook at a wooden desk, drawing a plant in pencil by window light.

A place for possibility.

Creative opportunity can be the beginning of a wider future.

We are developing the Art & Education program around creating meaningful opportunities for young people in communities where access to creative and educational resources is limited.

Art offers a language before an answer is expected. Through workshops, community-based programs and creative learning experiences, we want to expand access, support education and bring greater visibility to communities that are often overlooked.

By bringing creative programs into communities that are often overlooked, the program aims not only to widen access, but also to bring greater visibility to the potential, talent and possibilities already present within them.

Room to explore.

Creating access. Three areas are guiding the development of this chapter. They are a starting point for conversations with communities, educators, artists and future partners.

Creative opportunities
How can workshops, artist-led programs and access to creative spaces give young people opportunities they may not otherwise have? We want to create experiences that encourage curiosity, participation and learning.
Learning and support
How can creative programs sit alongside wider educational opportunities? This could include supporting local initiatives, sponsoring learning opportunities and helping create stronger, more engaging environments in which young people can develop.
Community and visibility
How can programs respond to the places and communities they are part of while bringing greater visibility to them? We want the work to be locally informed — recognising the people, perspectives and potential already present, while helping connect communities to wider opportunities and resources.

Before we begin.

A program in motion.

The Art & Education program is developing alongside the gallery, with a focus on creating meaningful creative and educational opportunities for young people.

Its work takes shape through workshops, community-based programs and learning initiatives designed to expand access, strengthen learning environments and bring greater visibility to the communities involved.

Create impact through opportunity.

We work with organisations and institutions that want to create meaningful, long-term impact through education, access and community-based initiatives.

Partnerships can support programs, expand their reach and help direct resources toward young people and communities where opportunity is limited.
